South Africa hosts Mister Gay World contest

Homosexuality has been making regular appearances in the African news in recent months. Several countries are currently moving to strengthen legislation that criminalises consenting same-sex relationships. But South Africa is one of the countries in the world with the most pro-gay constitution.Saturday saw Cape Town's gay pride march and the start of a month of activities including a national film festival. The events culminate on 8th April when the Mr Gay World contest will be held in Johannesburg - the first time it is being hosted in Africa.
