The number of drug-trafficking offences committed by Zambian women is on the rise, according to the country 's Drug Enforcement Commission. More than 800 Zambian young women have been arrested for drug-related offences in the last two years. The rise reflects the increase in the volume of drugs trafficked through southern Africa to markets in Europe and Asia in recent years.
