Issued on:

Weapons used by the David Yau Yau South Sudanese militia in Jonglei state were likely given to them by the Sudanese government, according to a new report out by Small Arms Survey. This, after 12 people, including five UN peacekeepers, were ambushed by rebels last week. The UN is investigating who is responsible for the attack. Jonah Leff, the author of the report, explains how they determined the weapons probably came from Sudan.
