Kenya shuts Somali money-transfer firms

Aid agencies have urged Kenya to allow Somali money-transfer firms to resume operations. Kenya suspended the licences of transaction companies earlier this month, in an effort to crack down on the Islamist militant group al-Shebab. But halting remittances may prove lethal to struggling families in Somalia.
