Two deadly bomb blasts hit Karachi Sufi shrine

At least eight people have been killed by two bombs at a major shrine in the Pakistani port city of Karachi. One of the victims is reported to be a woman and two others are children.

The bombs went off at the entrance of the shrine to Sufi saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi's seaside Clifton district, senior police officer Azhar Ali said.

 
The blasts took place when the shrine was packed with devotees for weekly Thursday night gathering, police said. About 60 people are injured according to The News newspaper.

Two heads, believed to be those of the bombers, have been recovered from the site where severed limbs and human flesh littered the ground, sources told the paper.

President Asif Ali Zardari visited Karachi Thursday. The shrine is near his family’s residence in the city.
