Hello everyone!

We’re going to experiment with our recipes – like all good cooks. Now you’ll hear if you won the quiz on Saturdays, at 5:16 universal time. Tune in on Sundays at 4:22, 5:52 and 7:22 universal time to hear the quiz question … and whatever else is cooking up in the Sound Kitchen …

Today’s quiz question was read on 5 June, and was suggested by listener Dewan Rafiqul Islam – the President of the Friends Radio Club in Naogaon, Bangladesh. Mr. Islam thought a good question would be about France’s World Heritage Sites – there are 35 of them, and I asked you to send me the name of one of those sites.

Listeners with the correct answer this week are: Mr. Chitturi Ramana, from Hyderabad, India, and Mr. Paritosh Chattopadhyay, also from Murshidabad. From Assam, India, Prithwiraj Purkayastha, and from Trinicity, Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Richard Chen. Finally, Mr. Solomon Fessahzion, from Asmara, Eritrea.

Congratulations winners!

This week’s question is a sea-faring one: last week, a ship set sail from a port near Piraeus in Greece, en route for Gaza. The goal was to try and break Israel’s blockade on Gaza. The ship was stopped, the captain was arrested, and Greece charged him with “setting sail without permission”, and “endangering passengers”.

Greece decided to drop all charges against the captain, although they still will not allow the boat to leave port … my question to you is, what is the name of the boat? What is the name of the boat which has been banned from leaving Greece for Gaza?

Send me your answers by 29 August; the answer and the winners will be announced on the 3 September programme. Be sure you send your postal address in with your answer … and be sure and tell me if you are a Mr. or a Mrs. or a Ms. or a Miss – I don’t want to get it wrong!
