Volcanic ash forces closure of Spanish airports
Seven airports in Spain were forced to close on Tuesday because of a volcanic ash cloud from Iceland.Four airports in the Canary Islands and three in southern Spain were shut, according to the Spanish air traffic control agency Aena.

Two airports in Tenerife and those on La Palma and La Gomera closed at 4am local time, while airports in Seville, Jerez and Badajoz suspended operations two hours later.
“We do not know when they could reopen,” an Aena spokeswoman said.
On Monday, restrictions had been placed on flying through Spanish airspace. Last month the same volcano in Iceland was responsible for the biggest-ever shutdown of European airspace since World War II.
