For three consecutive weeks, hundreds of illegal workers have been camping in front of the Opera house at Paris's Place de la Bastille. The action is another episode in a strike organised by the workers last year to protest against the French government's refusal to provide them with papers that entitle to live and work here legally, although many have jobs and paid taxes for up to ten years.
