Landmine ban convention opens in Geneva

The annual meeting of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention opens today in Geneva, Switzerland, for five days. About 80 per cent of countries worldwide have signed the treaty banning the production, use, transfer and stockpile of landmines. And the number of governments rejecting their use is growing. Steve Goose of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines is working to ban landmines worldwide.
