French military medical teams sets off for Jordan-Syria border
A French military medical team has left Paris for Jordan where it will be posted on the border with Syria to help care for refugees fleeing the conflict between Bashar al-Assad’s regime and the armed opposition.

About 25 military medics, accompanied by about 25 civilians, left Paris’s Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport at 8.30 am local time aboard an Airbus A310.
They were to make a stop at Astres in the south of France to take on 20 tons of medicine and equipment before heading for Amman.
The teams include a general practitioner, three surgeons, a vet and anaesthetists, as well as nurses, general and administrative staff.
They estimate they will be able to carry out between six and 10 operations and hospitalise 15-20 patients a day.
The mission, which President François Hollande decided to send Monday, is a complement to France’s diplomatic efforts to “stop the exactions of the regime”, Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault stressed in a statement on Wednesday.
