Will Indian Cricket Board implement Lodha panel recommendations?

Issued on:

At the start of the week, a panel appointed by India's Supreme Court proposed sweeping changes to the country's scandal-hit cricket board and said gambling should be made legal. The panel headed by former chief justice RM Lodha was appointed after a string of corruption scandals at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Included among the important recommendations of the panel is the legalization of betting after the Indian Premier League, a popular Twenty league run by the BCCI that was rocked by allegations of corruption and match-fixing. RFI’s Dhananjay Khadilkar takes a look at this issue in this week’s Sports Insight.
