The star of the match was Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored a second half hat-trick. PSG stamped their authority on the match by taking a commanding 3-0 lead.

Things only got worse for the home team as Ibrahimovic scored his first goal in the first minute of the second half. He scored two more goals in the next 10 minutes succession to complete his hat-trick.

Troyes contributed to the goal feast as Matthieu Saunier scored an own goal before Cavani scored his second from a penalty and Ibrahimovic his fourth.

PSG also added another feather to its cap by recording the quickest league victory ahead of Lyon who won the 2007 title with five games to go.

They are in line for a repeat of a treble for the second year running, having made it to the semi-final of the French Cup and the League Cup final. PSG are also in the running for the Champions League crown after they beat Chelsea last week to reach the quarterfinals.

Arsenal stunned in FA Cup

Defending champions Arsenal lost 2-1 to Watford in the sixth round of their FA Cup match at the Emirates stadium on Sunday. Watford, placed 14th in the Premier League standings, took the lead in the 50th minute through a goal by Odion Igalho.

The visitors increased their lead in the 63rd minute with Algeria winger Adlene Guedioura unstoppable right-foot strike into the top-right corner.

Arsenal pulled one back in the 88th minute through a Danny Welbeck strike. But it was too late for the 2014 and 2015 champions who are now facing the prospect of ending the season without any silverware.

Arsenal are eight points behind leaders Leicester City in the Premier League and will face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal after losing the first leg 2-0.
