Sevilla drew 0-0 at Lyon to advance from Group H as runners-up behind Juventus. Porto thrashed the already-qualified Leicester City 5-0 to book their place in the last 16. It was the worst defeat of an English club in the competition.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri said he took full responsibility for the loss.

But, he said, there was a caveat.

"We knew we had already won the group," said the Italian. "So I knew that we didn't need to win or draw and that it was a good moment to give a chance to the players that aren't always playing, those who say they are ready. They played and I think that some of them wasted a good chance."

Sevilla lived dangerously at Lyon. The hosts had 60 percent of the possession but failed to make the breakthrough in front of more than 50,000 spectators at the Stade des Lumières. Lyon would have advanced had they won by two clear goals.

"I am satisfied because we have put in enormous efforts to qualify against very important opponents," said Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli.

Juventus goal drought ends

Juventus claimed Group H courtesy of a 2-0 win in Turin. Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain ended his five-week goal drought scoring the first in the 52nd minute. Daniele Rugani hit the second 17 minutes from time.

"Maybe he was just too used to scoring goals before," said Juve boss Massimo Allegri of Higuain's poor marksmanship. "We needed to score goals. Sometimes it happens that a striker doesn't score for a few games. But at Juventus it's important we win, not who scores."

"All strikers want to score goals," Higuain told Mediaset Premium after the match. "You can't always score when you want, so I'm happy I did. Since coming to Juventus I've been playing a little outside of the zone that I'm used to playing in."

Real finish second

One of Higuain's former sides, Real Madrid, squandered the opportunity to finish as winners of Group F A Karim Benzema brace put them 2-0 up against Borussia Dortmund and in pole position.

But the Spanish league leaders succumbed to strikes from the Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the Germany star Marco Reus.

"Real had some big chances in the second half, but we hoped for a lucky punch and we got it," said Reus.

"My goal was 99 percent Aubameyang and one percent me," added Reus. "He was world class with his pass and I was happy to get on the end of it."

Real coach Zinedine Zidane bemoaned his team's lack of ruthlessness. "We gave the game away by missing chances to score the third goal," he added.
